My gigging weekend kicked off on Wednesday, November 13, 2024, at the Tradewinds Fremantle. I brought along my compact portable speaker paired with my four-channel mixing desk. This combination delivered an incredible sound that perfectly filled the outdoor undercover space. I had a great time and kept both the staff and patrons entertained with my acoustic music. I also took the chance to capture some publicity photos for my Easy Weddings profile, and they turned out pretty well.
Then the weekend arrived on Friday, leading me on a road trip 234 km away from home to Pemberton for a performance commencing at 4pm. The drive was smooth, and I arrived safely. I love heading down south, the cool climate and towering trees create a whole different atmosphere
On Saturday morning, I woke up refreshed after a good night’s sleep at the Best Western Hotel and enjoyed a complimentary hot breakfast. I then hit the road and arrived at the Nannup Brewing Co. well before my 1 PM performance to set up. There, I met my good friend Dave, and we spent time catching up as he helped me unload my gear. He stayed until the end to assist with packing up too. Once again, the Bose S1 and mixer impressed me with its fantastic sound. I played my acoustic sets and left feeling great, returning home around 7:30pm to Jarrahdale for another good night’s rest. Sunday morning started early at 6 AM, and after a quick bite, I realized there was no milk for my coffee before heading out to busk at the Wandi markets. It wasn’t a problem, though—Tony from the coffee van came to the rescue with a delicious caffeine boost that powered me through the morning. Once again the portable battery powered sound system delivered its sound magic. After finishing at midday, I made my way to the Kalamunda hills for a 4 PM gig at The Vault. I had a blast entertaining the locals, and one unforgettable moment was playing a Radiohead song that brought a tear to a woman’s eye while she enjoyed her wine. It’s incredible how music can evoke such emotions. I received wonderful support from friends and family who came to see me perform at both the markets and the afternoon gig at The Vault. Thank you for reading my blog, and I hope to see you at my next shows! Check out the events here to see where I’ll be playing next
